About me
I'm a freelance developer, solutions architect and cloud enthusiast based in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Focusing mainly on the Microsoft technological space, I have consulted for startups and larger companies alike.
In this technical space, I can help you with green field solution architecture (both on the cloud and application level), existing architecture reviews, setting up the devops part of your project (cicd automation, containerization, infrastructure as code) and establishing the workflows for cross-functional teams.
In my spare time I enjoy biking (both on and off road) and sports climbing.
I started my IT career in 2004 doing customer support in a company offering ERP solutions. In the next 2 years I moved to the QA team and then to the development team - here I had my first contact with Microsoft's (then) brand new .Net Framework.
In 2007 I switched jobs to another company focusing only on .Net solutions and remained in the .Net space for the next 7 years. During this period I got my first taste of the cloud, took my first steps into what we would today call DevOps and started taking on side projects (mostly focused on other tech stacks - Java, PHP, JavaScript) as a freelancer.
In 2014 I left permanent employment for full time freelancing / contracting. Since then I've consulted for startups and large companies with my role being usually a mix of developer, team / tech lead, solutions architect and devops engineer.
My main technical focus has remained on Microsoft products (Azure Cloud, .Net Core, Azure Devops) complemented by polyglot components (NodeJS, Python) and with a heavy focus on Devops concepts (CICD, infrastructure as code) and containerization (Docker / Kubernetes).
As a teamlead I was involved in defining my team's workflows with a preference for agile, fast feedback cycle methodologies.
